How to use WorkDock

Three familiar places. One direct route.

Use the Finder context menu for selected locations, install the dedicated toolbar item for one-click access, or reopen WorkDock from the menu bar.

    Finder context menu

    Right-click a file, folder, sidebar item, or empty folder area, then choose Open in WorkDock.

  2. 02

    Dedicated Finder toolbar item

    In File Manager settings, choose Show Toolbar Item in Finder. Hold Command and drag WorkDock Finder Toolbar—not the main WorkDock.app—into the Finder toolbar.

  3. 03

    Menu bar

    After closing the window, left-click the WorkDock icon to reopen it. Right-click for shortcuts.

Installation permissionsPermission follows the package type

System packages request approval through the package manager; portable formats stay in your user account.

  • DEB / RPMUse sudo apt install or sudo dnf install. Dependencies are resolved automatically.
  • AppImageRun chmod +x once. It grants execute permission only to that file and does not require sudo.
  • TAR.GZRun ./install.sh. It installs under ~/.local and adds file-manager menus without sudo.
